I hate farming out any kind of work when building a project vehicle. It doesn’t matter whether it’s body work, paint, wiring, upholstery, or exhaust fabrication, I just need to do it (or at least attempt it) myself.

About 20 years ago, Rich Gortsema of Gortsema Customs owned a ’67 Chevy C10 and really enjoyed driving it. Eventually, Rich sold the truck with sellers remorse a few days later, but he knew if the opportunity to build a hot rod C10 arose again, he would jump all over it.

With the vast array of pedal assemblies in the aftermarket world, I stumbled upon a cool set of pedals that were basic looking in nature but packed a big punch as far as adjustability. You may say that your stock pedals don’t need the adjustability and you stop just fine.

Flying into Spokane, Washington, from California was an eye opener, not because the flight was bad, the landscape was that good, and it kept me glued to the window. The state of Washington, especially Spokane, is incredibly green with numerous rivers running right into the downtown cityscape.
