Don Keyser from Bedford, Texas, sent in these pictures of his '50 Ford F-1. He bought the truck as an unfinished project that came mostly in boxes. He says he probably should have had his head examined when he bought it, but he had a vision and stuck to it.
The F-1 has a 305 TPI small-block and a 700-R4 between the 'rails that hook to a '72 Ford 9-inch rearend. The stock frontend was rebuilt and the steering was upgraded to a Toyota power box and a Flaming River column. The brakes are now power assist drum thanks to a '67 Mustang master and booster combo and a Painless harness controls the fuel injection. Inside the cab are also a Hot Rod Air A/C unit and a set of Dolphin gauges.
One-piece side glass replace the original vent assemblies and the vacuum wiper motor was upgraded to an electric unit. The truck now rolls on Boss Motorsports 338 18- and 20-inch wheels. After about a year of working on it, Don did everything except the paint and seat upholstery at home.
