People's Choice
Dennis Glass from Knoxville, Tennessee, sent in photos of his '57 Chevrolet Half-Ton. He's had the truck for 20 years, but did not start the frame-off restoration until 10 years ago, which took about four years to complete. The truck includes a 305 Chevy small-block, a 700-R4 transmission, and a 3.73:1 geared rearend. There are five-lug discs up front, new bed wood, bedside panels, tailgate, and various other parts all from Brothers Truck Parts. He also installed a Painless wiring system, which Dennis reports was in fact "painless".

The frame has Eastwood's rust stabilizer as a base and one coat of Rhino bedliner for texture, and he says it worked out really well. All sandblasting, bodywork, and painting was completed by Dennis; the white paint is a Ford color while the red is Dodge Flame Red. The interior and under the hood are two part PPG black. Dennis says the '57 runs and sounds as good as it looks with 2 1/2-inch exhaust. After he showed it for the first time at the local country fair, he walked away with the People's Choice award. Dennis has been having so much fun with the Chevy that he's building a second, but custom, '57. Keep it up!
